Pianist. Ashley has taught piano for over 20 years and
will take beginners of all ages, starting as young as 6, up to
the most advanced students. He travels to all his students'
homes in the South Naples area, or students who live close to
him in Estero come for their lessons there in his studio.
An award-winning concert pianist, Michael Baron performs
over 40 concerts each year, including annual tours of Europe
and engagements throughout the United States, Asia, and
South America. Equally at home as a recitalist, a soloist
with orchestra, and a chamber musician, Baron commands a
diverse repertoire, ranging from Baroque compositions to
world premieres of contemporary pieces. His virtuosity and
musicianship regularly garner the highest critical acclaim.
Baron received his doctorate in Piano Performance studying
with the legendary American pianist Earl Wild. He also
worked extensively in Italy with the renowned pianist Orazio
Dr. Baron serves as Professor of Music and Head of Keyboard
Studies at the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast
University in Ft. Myers, Florida. He is also Honorary
Professor of Music at Yantai University and Hubei University
in the People’s Republic of China. A distinguished educator,
Baron has presented master classes and workshops at schools,
festivals, and universities throughout the world. He
regularly serves as a jurist on regional, national, and
international piano competitions.
An acclaimed master teacher, Dr. Baron’s students regularly
win competitions throughout the United States and abroad.
Baron is the Director of Corsi Internazionali di Musica

Recent performances have taken him to Italy, Switzerland,
Belgium, South Korea, and Serbia, Peru, as well as U.S.

as well as adults of all levels at his studio at Florida

I hold two Master Degrees in music: one from Rimsky Korsakov
Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia and the other from
Manhattan School of Music in New York. I have over twenty five
years of teaching experience, along with a considerable history
in theater, ballet and opera.
I actively perform as a soloist as well as chamber musician. I
am currently artistic director and pianist in various
self-conceived productions, which all aim to recreate a moment
in history through the incorporation of music, spoken word and
the performing and visual arts. Several of our critically
acclaimed original programs include "An Evening of French and
Russian Music, Poetry and Prose," performed at the Renaissance
Academy at Gulf Coast University and "...and I will say Kaddish,
Voices of the Holocaust," a program created especially for the
UN Holocaust Remembrance Day.
I strongly believe in my long-term experience of working with
children and adults of various ages and musical backgrounds, my
intimate knowledge of the performing arts world, and my

Mingshan Kong, piano, earned her B.M. degree from the
Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China and her M.M. degree
from the University of Massachusetts. Her teachers include
Andre Laplante, the silver medalist of the Tchaikovsky
International Piano Competition.
Kong began performing with the Naples Philharmonic in 1990.
For a decade, she actively performed in the Candlelight
chamber music series, and she made a solo appearance under
the direction of Keith Lockhart. In recent years, she
performs regularly in the Sypert Salon series.
Kong’s other solo appearances include performances with the
Southwest Florida Symphony and the Charlotte Symphony
Orchestra. She has also performed at the Medowmount School
of Music in Upstate New York.
Along her husband James Zhang, assistant principal violin
with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, Kong has performed
in numerous recitals and fundraising events in the

Degree.” In 1990 she earned her Doctorate in Music

“Contemporary Connections” in 1992. Since 1995 she is widely
heard as a soloist, chamber musician, duo-pianist and
lecture/recitalist in Central Florida. Many of Dr. McLean’s
students have continued their musical studies at prestigious
colleges in the U.S. She enjoys teaching piano to people of all

evaluation and consultation. We than compose a custom
learning program to suit each individual students needs and

All ages will be accepted. Each weekly lesson is usually 45
to 60 minutes in length. All lessons will be audio recorded
in mp3 format and sent to your email address. Each weekly
